The short version: WattPrep does not collect your data. There is no account, no sign-up and no analytics. Everything you do in the app — your answers, scores and progress — is stored only on your iPhone and never leaves it.
None. We do not collect, transmit, sell or share personal information. We do not operate servers that receive your study data. There is no login, no email capture and no user profile.
To make the app work, the following is saved locally on your iPhone only:
This data stays in the app's private storage on your device. We cannot see it. It is included in your device backup only if you back up your iPhone, and it is permanently deleted when you delete the app.
WattPrep contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, no third-party trackers and no tracking across apps or websites. We do not use the Advertising Identifier and we never ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, because we have nothing to track.
Subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment and tells the app only whether an active entitlement exists. We never receive or store your name, payment card, or billing address. Apple's handling of that transaction is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Where your device supports it, answer explanations are refined by Apple's on-device language model, and are labelled as such in the app. That processing happens locally on your iPhone: your questions and answers are not sent to us or to any third party for this feature. The underlying answer and code reference for every question are written and reviewed by people; only the wording of the explanation may be machine-generated.
WattPrep is a professional trade-exam study tool intended for adults preparing for electrical licensing exams. It is not directed to children, and we knowingly collect no information from anyone.
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete. You are in full control: deleting the app removes all study data from your device permanently. Subscriptions are managed in your Apple ID settings.
GDPR / UK GDPR. We do not act as a data controller or processor of your personal data, because none is collected or transmitted to us. Rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection therefore have no data to act upon. You may still contact us with any question, and you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
California (CCPA/CPRA). In the preceding 12 months we have collected no categories of personal information, and we have not sold or shared personal information — we have never done so and do not intend to. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information. We do not knowingly collect information from minors, and we do not discriminate against anyone for exercising privacy rights.
If this policy changes, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
