Before your Texas electrician exam, check the NEC edition.
TDLR's current examination page lists the 2026 National Electrical Code as the reference book. If your app, course or practice book still says 2023, check its coverage before you rely on it for your exam.

Where WattPrep stands
WattPrep 1.0.3 contains 2023 NEC study material. Its questions and calculators have not yet been verified against the 2026 edition. A 2026-ready release date is not confirmed.
That means the app is available for 2023 practice, but you should not use it as your sole preparation for a current Texas examination.
Three checks before you study
- Find your current bulletin. Open the candidate bulletin linked by TDLR. Match the license type, language and exam you booked. Verify the allowed reference edition and the format there.
- Check every study resource's edition. Ask your instructor which materials have been reviewed for the 2026 exam. A recent publication date alone does not establish coverage.
- Practise with the book you will use. Record the topic, reference and time for each lookup. Check answers against your current materials and take unresolved questions to your instructor.
